Center Moriches Honors Veterans in "Walk of Heroes" Parade
The Center Moriches School District proudly hosted its annual Walk of Heroes veterans parade on Friday, November 7, honoring the courageous servicemembers who have fought to defend our nation. The event brought together students and local veterans in a heartfelt celebration of patriotism, gratitude, and community.
The morning began with a moving parade through the hallways of Center Moriches Middle School and High School, where students lined the corridors to cheer on veterans marching in uniform, who were accompanied by high school students. Students then joined the veterans for a breakfast celebration at Clayton Huey Elementary School, which featured musical performances by both the high school band and elementary school students.
Following breakfast, the procession continued as veterans and students paraded through the elementary school, allowing younger students to honor local heroes.
“This event provides a powerful opportunity for our students to connect personally with the men and women who have served our country,” said Dr. Ricardo Soto, Superintendent of Schools. “The bonds formed here remind us all of the importance of service, sacrifice, and gratitude.”
