Universal Pre-Kindergarten Information
UNIVERSAL PRE-KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
Center Moriches Union Free School District participates in the New York State's grant funded Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program.
To be eligible for UPK, a child must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2024 and be a Center Moriches resident within the boundaries of Center Moriches Union Free School District.
The program runs for 5 hours per day, 5 days per week (following the CMUFSD holiday/break calendar).
Children must meet all health and immunization requirements. Parents are responsible for transportation.
YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:
- Child's birth certificate
- Child's immunization record
- Three acceptable proofs of residency
- Completed registration packet (English) (Spanish)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE UPK LOTTERY ALL REGISTRATION PAPERWORK MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 3:00 PM, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2024.
This grant is awarded annually and allows our district to pick a local educational partner to help prepare our youngsters for success in Kindergarten and beyond.
As the number of children that can be served by this grant is limited, each year the district holds a lottery to enroll the children. Each interested family must apply and supply residency documentation prior to the deadline stated on the district calendar. All families who provide the appropriate documentation participate in the lottery to distribute the spots in next year's class. Families do not need to be present to participate in the lottery.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the lottery will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 7 PM in the District Office boardroom.
Upon securing funding from the grant again, the district proceeds to enroll our students in number order as picked in the lottery.
