Center Moriches High School Celebrates Completion of Auditorium Renovations
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 8, the Center Moriches School District celebrated the completion of its totally renovated Center Moriches High School auditorium, a landmark project made possible through voter-approved capital reserve funds.
The renovation restored the auditorium to its position as a centerpiece for school and community events, featuring all-new seating, flooring, curtains, and a fresh coat of paint. LED lights now illuminate the room, and color changing lights and a backdrop projector were added. The total cost of the renovation came to just about $1.2 million, staying within the predetermined budget.
December’s ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official unveiling of the space, during which students, staff, and community members gathered to explore the transformed auditorium. Past and present Board of Education members and local officials also joined in the celebration, reflecting the strong community support behind the project.
“This auditorium has always been the heart of our school community, and seeing it restored so beautifully was truly inspiring,” said Marissa Mangogna, Principal of Center Moriches High School. “Our students now have a performance space that matches their talent, creativity, and energy.”
“This project reflected the unwavering support of our community,” said Dr. Ricardo Soto, Superintendent of Schools. “Thanks to our voters and the thoughtful use of capital reserve funds, we created a space that will serve generations of students and residents. We were proud to celebrate this moment together.”
