School Spirit Takes Center Court for Harlem Wizards Basketball Game

Center Moriches School District came alive with excitement as students, families, educators, and community members gathered for a high-energy Harlem Wizards basketball game on Friday, February 6.

The nationally recognized Harlem Wizards faced off against a team of Center Moriches faculty and staff in a lively exhibition game organized by the PTO that delighted the crowd from start to finish. Known for their engaging blend of basketball talent and interactive entertainment, the Harlem Wizards delivered a memorable experience that extended beyond the final score. The team’s visit brought together students, families, educators, and community members for an evening that celebrated teamwork, school pride, and community connection.

“This event showcased everything that makes Center Moriches such a special place,” said Dr. Ricardo Soto, Superintendent of Schools. “Seeing our students, staff, families, and local leaders come together in such a positive and joyful way reinforces the strong sense of community we are proud of. It was a night our students will remember for years to come.”

The Harlem Wizards event served as a celebration of community spirit and collaboration, highlighting the strong bond between Center Moriches schools and families while creating lasting memories for students and staff alike.
