Clayton Huey Elementary School hosted its annual art exhibit, celebrating the creativity, imagination, and artistic accomplishments of students across all grade levels. Families, staff, and community members were invited to explore a vibrant collection of student artwork displayed throughout the exhibit.
 
The showcase featured a wide variety of projects and artistic styles created by students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Kindergarten students displayed skewer sculptures, Picasso portrait collages, and “Warm Hearts” watercolor paintings. First grade students contributed winter tree watercolor paintings, warm- and- cool- candle 3-D paintings, and clay ice cream cones.
 
Second grade exhibits included clay pizzas, Jim Dine hearts mixed media paintings, and Salvador Dali-inspired melting clock designs. Third grade students showcased surreal silly burgers, tornado optical art pieces known as op art pieces, birch tree watercolor paintings, and Crayola Model Magic paint palettes.
 
Fourth grade students displayed mixed media Picasso portraits, pastel mountain silhouettes, clay burgers and fries, and radial line designs. Fifth grade artists presented clay pinch pots, northern lights landscape paintings, op art handprints, and “crazy hair” self-portraits.
 
In addition to the grade-level projects, the exhibit also featured Tim Burton-inspired portraits and independent creations from Art Club students, disco ball designs, mixed media artwork created by special education students, and collaborative artwork created by Clayton Huey faculty and staff members.
 
“Our students demonstrated tremendous creativity, effort and pride through their artwork,” Ms. Kathryn Phillips, Clayton Huey art teacher, said. “It was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate the imagination and artistic talents of our students.”
