Center Moriches High School’s track and field athlete Laila Cole was recently featured on Newsday's "Top 50 Long Island girls track and field athletes for 2025”. The junior ran the 100-meter dash in 12.25 seconds last May, tying her for sixth on Long Island and top 20 amongst New York State returning runners.

“Laila has been putting together an impressive athletic career during her time in Center Moriches Schools,” said Dr. Ricardo Soto, Center Moriches Superintendent of Schools. “I for one cannot wait to see how she improves upon it this year.”
